Sub Focus (real name Nick Douma) is a British DJ and music producer. Nick began his passion for music from the age of 13, playing bass guitar and learning the basics of sampling and production. His passion for music later continued through college where he began studying acoustics. Sub Focus' professional career began in 2003. His first demo CD was recorded on the Ram Records label, with one of the biggest drum and bass producers of the time, Andy C. His track ‘X-Ray / Scarecrow’ reached number one on the UK Dance Chart and hit number 60 on the UK Singles Top 75. In 2005, his track ‘X-Ray / Scarecrow’ reached number one on the UK Dance Chart and reached number 60 on the UK Singles Top 75. On 12 October 2009, his debut album was released, followed by his second album, Torus, on 30 September 2013. An album in collaboration with Wilkinson called Portals was released on 9 October 2020, followed by a fourth, Evolve, on 12 May 2023.
