Olexesh (born February 25 , 1988 in Kiev, Ukrainian SSR as Ukrainian Олексій Косарев Oleksij Kossarew) is a German rapper from Darmstadt-Kranichstein and is signed to the Frankfurt label 385idéal. Olexesh spent the first six years of his life in Kiev. Olexesh's father is Belarusian and his mother is Ukrainian. His father emigrated to the USA when Olexesh was two years old. Olexesh came to Germany with his mother at the age of six. At first he lived in Kelkheim (Taunus). They later moved to Darmstadt-Kranichstein, where Olexesh spent most of his youth. He attended a special school and discovered a fondness for rap music. He began to publish self-made music videos on YouTube. The first to appear was Super 6. Musically, Olexesh represents hard street rap. His rap style is aggressively choppy. The themes of his songs are street life in Darmstadt-Kranichstein, poverty, crime, drug use, gambling addiction and prostitution. In addition to West Coast hip-hop and the associated G-funk, a second source of inspiration is French rap. Olexesh also releases music that is stylistically oriented towards Latin music such as dancehall and reggaeton, for example on his album Augen Husky. His songs also contain Ukrainian and Russian words, including obscene vocabulary.
