Dino MC 47 (Timur Kuzminykh) was born on 9 February 1982 in Moscow. He grew up in a family of a Soviet officer and a philologist, which influenced his cultural development and views. As a child, Timur lived in East Germany, but after the withdrawal of Soviet troops, the family returned to Russia.
The artist's musical career began in 1995, when he recorded his first tracks. Later he became a member of rap groups Big Black Boots and VIP77, where he recorded the iconic composition ‘My Street’. In 2006, disillusioned with commercial rap, he changed his stage name to Dino MC 47, where ‘Dino’ comes from the word ‘Dynamite’, ‘MC’ stands for ‘Master of Ceremonies’, and the number 47 symbolises a Kalashnikov assault rifle.
In 2008, he released his debut album ‘Beyond Nominations’, which strengthened his position in Russian rap. His lyrics are filled with acute social themes, raising issues of injustice, corruption and problems of society. He also took part in television projects such as ‘STS Zagiets Superstar’, where he became one of the leaders.
In addition to musical activities, Dino MC 47 is actively involved in charity work. He is a co-founder of the fund ‘Wings of your soul’, which provides assistance to those in need. The artist strives to use music as a platform to spread important ideas, inspiring listeners to change.
