Chris Lake is a Scottish producer and DJ known for his achievements in the house and tech-house genres. He was born on 8 August 1982 in Aberdeen, Scotland. From an early age he showed an interest in music, beginning his keyboard studies at the age of 10. As a teenager his family moved to Ireland and then Scotland, where Chris continued his musical education. 1
In the early 2000s, Lake began to attract attention with remixes of tracks such as ‘Climbatize’ by The Prodigy, ‘Phat Planet’ by Leftfield, and ‘Sweet Dreams’ by the duo Eurythmics. International recognition came in 2006 with the release of the single ‘Changes’ featuring Laura Veturai, which went on to top the charts and cemented his reputation in the electronic scene. 1
In 2017, Chris Lake formed the Anti Up project with Chris Lorenzo and later teamed up with DJ FISHER to form the duo Under Construction. In 2017 he founded his own label Black Book Records, where he releases his own work as well as tracks by other artists. 1
Chris Lake continues to actively perform at global venues and release new releases, remaining an influential figure in contemporary electronic music.
