Evgeny Viktorovich Belousov (September 10, 1964, Zhikhar township, Kharkov Oblast, Ukrainian SSR - June 2, 1997, Moscow, Russia) was a Soviet and Russian pop singer, guitarist and songwriter. The Belousov family moved to Kursk when Evgeny and his brother Alexander were about two months old. He graduated from Kursk vocational school No. 1, specializing as a repair mechanic. Later he studied bass guitar at the Kursk Music College. In the mid-1980s, Bari Alibasov saw Belousov playing in a Kursk restaurant and invited him to join his band Integral as a singing bassist. In 1987, he began a solo career and achieved success with a series of hits collected in three studio albums: My Blue-Eyed Girl (1988), Night Taxi (1990) and Girl-Girl-Girl (1993). Beginning in 1993, Belousov's health began to deteriorate and his popularity plummeted. In March 1997, he was taken to the Sklifosovsky Institute with acute pancreatitis. A month later, he suffered a stroke and underwent brain surgery. On June 2, 1997, Belousov died at the Sklifosovsky Hospital and was buried at Kuntsevsky Cemetery.
