Alexander Alexandrovich Barykin was born on February 18, 1952 in the village of Beryozovo, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District, in the family of Alexander Alexandrovich and Alexandra Georgievna Byrykin. Soon he moved with his parents and brother Vasily to the town of Lyubertsy near Moscow, where he graduated from secondary school No. 9 and music school and played the domra. As a high school student, he organized his first band “Allegro” and performed with it on dance floors. At the same time he began to compose songs, and only on his own poems. He became a professional composer. Being drafted into the army, he first served in missile units near Kaluga, but was soon transferred to the air defense ensemble of the Moscow Military District. Graduated from the classical vocal department of the Gnessin Music School. He graduated from the Krasnodar Institute of Culture with a specialization in “director of mass events” in absentia, when he was performing professionally. Since 1973, Barykin became a professional musician. His musical career began with VIA “Moskvichi” under the direction of Yuli Slobodkin. He worked in VIA “Moskvichi” for 3 months. “Veselye Rebyata” (1973-1976; March 1979 - August 1979), ‘Samotsvety’ (1976-1977), in the Sochi group ‘Zhemchug’ (1977 - March 1979). In 1980, together with the former guitarist of “Samotsveti” Vladimir Kuzmin Barykin organized the rock band “Carnival”. In 1981, Melodiya released a minion with three songs from Carnival, which sold 5 million copies. In 1982, Barykin and Kuzmin had a disagreement and split up. “Karnaval” remained with Barykin, but he had to recruit a new lineup. In 1987, he recorded one of his major hits “Bouquet”, putting to music a poem by Nikolai Rubtsov. The song won the grand prize “Song of the Year-87”. 1991, having released its last LP “Blue Eyes”, “Carnival” breaks up. In the early 1990s, the musician began to have problems with his vocal cords. After 1996, Barykin did not release new albums for five years, then he was cured and resumed his active activity. Alexander Barykin died at the age of 59 on tour in Orenburg on March 26, 2011. According to official reports, the singer barely finished the last song and went backstage. Later he was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where he underwent surgery, but in the morning of March 26, 2011 he died.
