Deftones is an American alternative metal band from Sacramento, California, founded in 1988.
Chino Moreno, Stephen Carpenter and Abe Cunningham were friends from the same high school. They founded their band in 1988. Soon, bassist Chi Chen joined them. In the early 1990s, they were noticed by A&R agents. Since then, their global career has begun. At first, they played as support for such bands as KoRn, Coal Chamber, L7 and Ozzy Osbourne. Their first album, Adrenaline, was released in 1995.
