AJ Tracey (real name Che Walton Grant) is an English rapper and music producer from Ladbroke Grove, London. He was born on 4 March 1994.
Tracey rose to popularity in 2016 and was listed by The Guardian as one of the ‘best new artists to see at festivals in 2016’.
Tracy's fifth extended album, Secure the Bag! (2017), became his first UK Albums Chart entry, reaching number 13. His 2018 single ‘Butterflies’ (featuring Not3s) was his commercial breakthrough, peaking in the top 20 of the UK Singles Chart.
Tracy's eponymous debut album (2019) was met with critical acclaim and reached number three on the UK Albums Chart. Lead single ‘Ladbroke Grove’ reached number three on the UK Singles Chart and was certified platinum by the BPI.
In 2021, AJ Tracey collaborated with Gorillaz on the single ‘Jimmy Jimmy’ from the EP Meanwhile.
