Karen Harding (born November 18, 1991) is a British singer from Consett, County Durham. She was born to an English father and a Filipino mother.
Graduated from Moorside Community Technology College. She worked part-time for her parents in an oriental sweets store, and in 2008 she won the Music Means Life contest. One of her first recordings was a cover version of the anti-racist song "Strange Fruit" (primarily known for its performance by Billie Holiday).
In 2010, she participated in the television program Eurovision: Your Country Needs You, the national selection that decides who will represent the UK at Eurovision, but dropped out of the competition after performing Kylie Minogue's song "What Do I Have to Do". She also participated in the tenth season of the talent show The X Factor, but also dropped out by decision of the jury during the audition.
In January 2015, she released her debut single "Say Something", which reached number 7 on the UK Singles Chart.
In May 2016, Harding was selected to sing the national anthem of England at the 2016 FA Cup final.
The 2023 single "Need Your Love," which she recorded with Felix Kartal, won the Juno Award for Best Dance Recording of the Year at the 2024 Juno Awards.
