Abraham Russo (real name Abraham Janovich Ipjian; born July 21, 1969, Aleppo, Syria) is a Russian pop singer of Armenian origin. Participant of the Song of the Year festival, four-time winner of the Golden Gramophone Award. People's Artist of the Chechen Republic (2010) Father Jean Yipjian is a French Foreign Legionnaire, a veteran of World War II, mother Maria is a nurse. Abraham has an older brother John and a sister. The singer's debut album was released in 2001 - "Amor". In 2002, the singer sang with Kristina Orbakaite duet song "Love, which is no more", which immediately became a hit. So Russo became known throughout Russia. In the same year another hit song "Amor" appeared. This song spent almost three months in the top ten of the most popular songs, according to the European music channel "VIVA". Some of the songs were written by Russo himself - both lyrics and music. "Just love you" is the second song performed as a duet with Orbakaite. It was loved and remembered by the singer's fans, as well as his other songs - "Daleko Daleko" and "Engagement". Then in the biography of Abraham Russo followed the albums "Tonight" (2002), "Just to Love" (2003), "Engagement" (2006). For some time, the artist has been working with another producer, Alexandre Benish, a well-known impresario. In 2006 he survived an attempt on his life, which remained unsolved. After the assassination attempt, he lives in New York (USA). In January 2022, it became known that after the assassination attempt, the singer had a deep vein in his thigh clamped during surgery to prevent major blood loss and death. But because of this, health problems started and now the singer is preparing for an operation in the US to fix it. First name and pseudonym The real first and last name, according to Russo, is Abraham Ipjean (Abraham Ipjean, Abraham Ipjean). Responding in 2005 to a question about the similarity of his surname to the Armenian surname, Russo said: "'Ip' is Turkish for thread. My ancestors had a thread factory. And my father's name was Jean. Hence the name Ipjean". Wife - Morela Russo (Ferdman) (b. 1982), US citizen. They registered their marriage in Butyr Registry Office on September 8, 2005. They were married in Israel during the Christmas vacation (2005-2006). Daughter - Emanuella Russo, born December 27, 2006 in the USA.
