Igor Vladimirovich Talkov (November 4, 1956, Gretsovka, Shchyokinsky District, Tula Region - October 6, 1991, St. Petersburg) was a Soviet rock musician-multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, poet, composer and film actor. Talkov began to be interested in music from early childhood. He studied accordion at the local music school, also mastered playing guitar, violin, drums and piano. In his graduating classes he headed the school choir. In 1973 Igor writes his first composition “I'm a little sorry”. After graduation he makes an unsuccessful attempt to enter the theater school in Moscow, then begins to study at the Tula Pedagogical Institute, then at the Institute of Culture in Leningrad, but drops out of both. Before appearing on the big stage, Talkov performs with several ensembles: “Byloi i dumy”, “Fanty”, “Zvezdochka”. After the army he works part-time as a vocalist at the Black Sea resorts. Since 1976, the musician begins to tour with the group “April”. Then he played and sang with “Kaleidoscope” and “Elektroklub”, and after that, in 1987, he organized his own group “Salvation Circle”. In 1987 David Tukhmanov's song “Clean Ponds” performed by Igor Talkov was included in the program “Song of the Year”, after which Igor became famous as a lyrical musician. On October 6, 1991, Igor Talkov was killed in the “Yubileiny” sports palace in St. Petersburg under unclear circumstances. He is buried at the Vagankovsky Cemetery in Moscow.
