In 1984, the members of the hard rock band “Heavy Character”, guitarist Sergey Proklov and vocalist Mikhail Kirsanov united to form the band “Activity Zone”. They invited Andrey Lityagin as a keyboard player. A little later Margarita Sukhankina joined them. The direction of the collective became new wave. A year later, in February 1986, the collective was named “Mirage”. Singer Margarita Sukhankina took part in recording the compositions “Stars are Waiting for Us”, “Video” and “This Night”, but refused to participate in recording the rest of the material for the future album. Subsequently, a new vocalist for “Mirage” was found - Natalia Gulkina. Having replenished with one more soloist, Svetlana Razina, the band started to participate in the first concerts. The line-up of the band, in addition to the vocalists - guitarist Sergei Proklov (at concerts he was replaced by Igor Ponomarev), keyboardist Roman Zhukov and drummer Sergei Solopov. Despite the great popularity and demand, in 1988 Natalia Gulkina and Svetlana Razina left the band and created their own projects. In the summer of 1988 “Mirage” recorded the second tape album - “Together Again”. Margarita Sukhankina was again invited to record the vocal parts; Andrey Lityagin (arrangements, keyboards) and Alexey Gorbashov (guitar) also participated in the recording. In 1991, a new soloist Ekaterina Boldysheva joined the band. In the period from 1999 to 2004 the band with Ekaterina Boldysheva and Alexey Gorbashov actively toured in the countries of Western Europe. In 1999 Andrey Lityagin decided to continue the activity of the group “Mirage” in a new composition: four young girls were selected for concert performances under the old re-arranged plus-phonograms. In 2005 Margarita Sukhankina and Natalia Gulkina, again went to cooperate with Andrei Lityagin. From that moment the name “Golden voices of the group ‘Mirage’ was fixed for their duet. Officially Natalia Gulkina left the group on January 15, 2011. She was replaced by Svetlana Razina, the former lead singer of the group in the 1980s. In April 2007, at the “Best of the Best” awards ceremony, the group “Mirage” in the “golden line-up”: Andrey Lityagin, Ekaterina Boldysheva, Alexei Gorbashov and Alexander Bukreev (the group's director) were awarded medals and diplomas “Professional of Russia” for their contribution to culture and art. To date, “Mirage” with Ekaterina Boldysheva has the right to perform works from the repertoire of the group “Mirage”.
