"Nancy is a Ukrainian pop-rock music group best known for the song Smoke of Menthol Cigarettes.
The band was formed in 1992 by the singer Anatoly Bondarenko in Konstantinovka, Donetsk region.
The group consists of Anatoly Mikhailovich Bondarenko - born on 11.01.1966 in Konstantinovka, Donetsk region, USSR. Andrey Alexandrovich Kostenko - born on 15.03.1971. Iturup, Yuzhno-Kurilsk district (Sakhalin region, RSFSR) (USSR).
In 1983, Bondarenko created the band "Hobby", and it became popular in the Donetsk region. "Hobby" recorded the album "Crystal Love" in the studio of the Donetsk State Center of TV and Radio Broadcasting, which was a cycle of songs composed by himself. The title track "Crystal Love" was later included in Nancy's album "Foggy Fog".
"Menthol Cigarette Smoke" is the band's first album, recorded in 1992. In 1994 the songs of "Nancy" are heard on all radio stations of Russia. In 1995 the first CD was released. In 1996, on the First Channel (ORT) in the program "Muzoboz" helmsman Ivan Demidov called the band "Nancy" the best in Russia and №1 in the CIS.
The creator of the band, Sergey Anatolyevich Bondarenko, passed away on the night of October 18, 2018. The cause of his death was a sudden illness.
